Katy Pinke is a New York based multidisciplinary artist working across painting, drawing, sculpture, video, installation, and performance, as well as music and acting. Using materials from oil and acrylic to ink, pastel, and sculptural media, she creates layered works that blend abstract, linguistic marks with figures, animals, and symbolic imagery, evoking dream states and alternate realities.
Text and asemic writing are central to her practice, where language becomes an emotional and physical force rather than fixed narrative. Recurring birds, along with stars, waves, and fragmented figures, act as carriers of light, freedom, and spiritual energy which Pinke seeks to transmit directly to the viewer.
